Laura Zimmermann successfully defends doctoral dissertation
April 19, 2016 – Congratulations to Laura Zimmermann (mentor: Barr ) on the successful defense of her doctoral dissertation, “Examining Factors Associated with Visuospatial Working Development from Infancy through the Preschool Years.”
Laura has accepted an IES Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Child’s Play, Learning, and Development Lab at the University of Delaware under the direction of Dr. Roberta Golinkoff . She is investigating preschool spatial skills training by examining various strategies for teaching spatial skills and comparing the delivery of those strategies in concrete and digital formats. This research seeks to better understand how we can bolster spatial learning in preschool and subsequent mathematical readiness for formal schooling. The project is a collaboration with the Temple Infant and Child Lab .
