Dr. Shadab Tabatabaeian works with Dr. Adam Green as a member of the Relational Cognition Lab. Dr. Tabatabaeian earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive and Information Sciences from the University of California, Merced, in 2023 under the mentorship of Dr. Tyler Marghetis and Dr. Carolyn Dicey Jennings. Prior to her postdoctoral position, she worked as a Senior Data Scientist in EdTech in Southern California.
Dr. Tabatabaeian’s research focuses on the cognitive, behavioral, and neural mechanisms of creative problem-solving, particularly in mathematics and science. In her postdoctoral work, she is investigating human–AI hybrid creativity and developing novel computational metrics to measure creative cognition. Her research takes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating cognitive psychology, data science, computational modeling, and neuroscience.
