Ila graduated from Binghamton University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience. As an undergraduate, she worked for the Infant & Child Studies Project, where she completed an honors thesis under the mentorship of Dr. Peter Gerhardstein. Her research examined the developmental trajectory of visual attention in children, focusing specifically on how children suppress distracting visual stimuli. After graduating, Ila joined the Georgetown Early Learning Project as a data collector before stepping into her current role as lab manager. Her research interests center on children’s perceptual and cognitive development, particularly how early experiences and environments shape learning, memory, and attention.
