PhD Candidate Melissa Richards Featured on the APA Blog
September 11, 2014 – Congratulations to Melissa Richards, who was featured on the blog of the American Psychological Association! Melissa’s research was one of five abstracts selected this year for the Young Researchers in Developmental Psychology Symposium at the 2013 APA Annual Convention in Honolulu, HI. This session showcases innovative research conducted by students and early career scholars. Melissa’s research presentation, entitled “Toddlers’ Trust in Information Presented on Touchscreens by Media Characters,” explored how young children interact with familiar media characters on touch screens, specifically whether they trust familiar characters more than unfamiliar characters. She and her colleagues at the Children’s Digital Media Center (CDMC) found some surprising results: Check it out on the blog!
