Matt joined the Graduate Program in 2023 under the mentorship of Dr. Casey Brown in the CARES lab (new window). He earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2020. He has worked in multiple labs at the University of Maryland, investigating social interaction processing during development, as well as the neural mechanisms of language processing in adults. He has also worked at the National Institute on Aging, using quantitative MRI techniques to study microstructural changes in the brain across age. His current research interests are in the neuroscience surrounding interpersonal relationships, emotion regulation, and interactions in naturalistic contexts.
