Shawn Rhoads successfully defends doctoral dissertation
April 20, 2022 – Congratulations to Shawn Rhoads (mentor: Marsh) on the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation, “Understanding others and valuing their welfare: The neural basis of interpersonal accuracy, social learning, and altruistic choice.”
Shawn has been offered and accepted a post-doctoral fellowship with Xiaosi Gu in the Computational Psychiatry Unit at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS). This is a position that will give Shawn the opportunity to combine his computational modeling skills with research using intracranial data recorded directly from human participants–a really rare and exciting kind of data for understanding complex human social decisions.
